What a great show in Mesa this weekend. They just keep getting bigger and better. I would like to congradulate Billy, Peggy, Vangie, LaRue, Meriul, Ron, Roy & Wayne for a job well done, as well as all the members that jumped in and helped with the set up, moving equipment on and off the stage and everything that needed done during the show. The band and all the players were all excellant as usual. The audience showed their appreciation with their applause and many, many standing ovations. I am very proud to announce that the audience remained in the room until the last note was hit. More chairs had to be brought on Friday & Saturday as there was standing room only. Keep up the good work guys and lets plan on another big one next January.

What new technology or inventions for the steel guitar did you all see?
And what was the most innovative new steel guitar music? |

Earnest, Tommy Dodd had a 200 watt power amp that weighed about 5 pounds that he used with a line 6 processor and his tone was excellent with more than enough power. |

Troy,
Judy and I really appreciated you and Peggys hospitality while we were in Globe. You guys are great!! Judy really enjoyed visiting with Peggy. She thinks Peggy's great and a really hard worker.
Your show was great.
Thanks again for all the good times.

Well, things have finally gotten back to a normal pace here in Atlanta after a fantastic weekend at the SWSGA show in Mesa. I can't express enough gratitude towards all the folks assoicated with this event. It is first class all the way; and the people are the finest and friendliest you'll every meet.........anywhere!
Donna and I had a great time and look forward to a return trip next year if they'll have us. A very special thanks to Troy for loaning me his beloved Zum for my little part of the show. It sure sounded sweet on stage to me. (I even thought about kidnapping it back to Atlanta but Peggy had her evil eye on me so I figured she'd catch me stashing it in my baggage.)
I know it's a lot of hard & tedious work putting these steel shows on but the people in front and behind the scenes at the SWSGA are top notch. Their dedication to the show, and the steel guitar, will assure them a very successful event for many years to come. Thanks for letting me be just a little part of it. It was my pleasure I assure you....... |
