IMO, there is no one better. This has really made my day. I've been a fan of Doug for years and probably millions of others have as well. Doug, may God bless you real good and thanks for all the years of sharing your talents.

Thanks for this!
I will never forget his appearance at Gerry Hogan's Steel Guitar Festival in Newbury, about ten years ago.

As a great player Doug is just one of the very best. He also is one fine man. I have always found him to be humble and so very kind. Thanks Doug for blessing all of us with your talent.

Doug is an incredible technician and brilliant musician, but above all he is simply a gentleman of the highest order. He is a credit to our instrument and is in the top 3 players in the world and has been for the last 35 years.

Doug's command of the instrument is only outshadowed by his character. He has certainly paid his dues and his commitment to excel is proved by his great talent. I spoke with him at the SWSGA in Phoenix in '04 and he's not only the player's player, but a genuine person to meet. I'm only sorry that I live so far from where he can be seen in person. Thanks for this fine video for us to enjoy.

I'm not a big fan of E9th steel guitar in no ways. But when it comes to doug, i make an exception. Might just be me, but when it comes to tunes like 8days a week, i don't think anyone breathing air, could pick it better. Speed pickin' is nice, if it's done clean. None cleaner then doug.

I saw Doug today "live" on Broadway in Nashville playing with Johnny Hiland and tearing it up. I've also seen Mike Sweeny, Tommy Hannum, and Vic Lawson. Needless to say it's been a really good day.
