Hi Kirk, sent you a message on Facebook about the possibility of Bill Lane being on the program this year. Any chance of this happening? Let me know. Do you have the lineup confirmed, or do you have room for one more.

Already got my room booked, so we will be there.

Dennis

Hi again Kirk, just talked to Bill Lane, and he said that he will have to pass on this year. He fell last week and hurt his ribs, and then his wife Char fell and was slightly injured. He will be going to the doctor on Thursday for a check up, but doesn't think that he can play next month. Not just because of the injury, but finances will be a factor in coming as well.

I didn't know about the injury until just now, and I am sorry for any inconvenience that this might make for you. Hope you can find someone to fill his spot.

See you all next month.

Thanks, Dennis

In case some of you folks in the midwest aren't familiar with Steve Palousek, he is
without a doubt one of the most fantastic players in the country. He plays all
styles with technique and imagination. Please take my word for it, you don't
want to miss him. I only sorry I can't be there both days, but I'll hear him on
Sunday. Dale Thomas

You're absolutely right, Dale! Steve is one awesome steeler who plays everything with beauty and charm ranging from country to jazz, swing, gospel, and everything in between. We are very happy to welcome him to the 20th anniversary of the Northeast Iowa Steel Guitar show, along with 25-30 excellent regional artists from the Midwest.
I echo Dale's and Kirk's comments that you don't want to miss this next show on October 19-21 at the Electric Park Ballroom in Waterloo, IA. Also, be sure to attend the session at 2p on Sunday featuring students from our Jump Start program.

Dale and Lefty are among the most proficient steel players in Iowa, and for them to speak this highly of Steve says a lot.

Congratulations on your 20th anniversary!

Friday at 6p on Oct 19 is the 'open' jam session for all steel players who show up. Last year, we had 17 steel players in a circle and it went extremely well! Come join us!

I am looking forward to the 20th show. I especially enjoy seeing the Jump Start students perform. Seeing what they have accomplished from scratch in one year is exciting. Ron

Bump for this great event. One more week and it will be off and running. I am going this year and can't hardly wait. Especially since I'll have some of my bandmates present and past with me.

I would sure like to have you join us again Terry. We understand when Mel calls, you gotta be there.
CONGRATS again on your recent induction into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame...you deserve it my friend!

Craig, Kirk, Ronnie, and the rest of the gang -- it will be good hearing your pickin' and hanging out with you. This show is sort of significant because it's our 20th year and we're looking forward to celebrating it with great music, good friends, and a good time..."where no one is a stranger."

What a great weekend we had here in Iowa. Friday night jam started the weekend with about 12 steelers and a band to play with. Sat. was a full house at Electric Park Ballroom to hear Steve Polousek and Scotty, and 30 Midwest steelers from Ohio, Wi, Ia. Neb. and Mo. Sunday was also a great house of listeners and dancers to hear many players and our new steelers who literally picked some great stuff. Gotta plan on this next year if you can, this is a have to in many ways. Thanks to all who came to the show.
