Sharing some photos of my #3 lap steel build. A friend game be a nice piece of 75 year wild cherry for the body. I made by own ebony fretboard with nickel steel frets, and M.O.P. National Style roman numeral fret markers. The peghead overlay and trim plates are ebony as well. This guitar has a 22 1/2" scale with 2" bone nut. I used a Kent Armstrong P-90 humbucker pickup on this one with 500k volume and tone pots. The bridge is fully adjustable Telecaster style. Tuners are Grover 18:1 "Sta-tite". I did a black binding on the sides, top and bottom. No stain on the wood, just multiple coats of acrylic lacquer.

Here's a sample sound clip.
I am not very experienced on the lap steel.
But it will give you an idea of the sound Smile
