Hi all,

I have a question concerning the ClearTune tuning app. I have entered my own tuning settings and I notice there is an option to select a temperament key. The default is C. My question is, does it matter what key this is set to for tuning a pedal steel?

Joshua, mine is set on C also and have never moved it and it seems to tune my steels just almost perfect. As to whether it makes a difference, I don't know.

If you change it, do so BEFORE you enter the values (I created my values by tuning by ear and entering the results, rather than just reading off Newman/Emmons/Peterson numbers). If you change it after, you can get some interesting and non-subtle changes.
