Hey steelers!!!
I may be moving to Pell City/Logan Martin Lake Alabama area. Are there any C&W bands with steel guitar that gig in this area? How about any recommended clubs/bars/honky tonks, etc. to see live music in this area?
Thanks Ya'll,
Kirk |

Hi, Kirk, I played a good bit all around Birmingham last year. The first gig I have near you this year will be Jan 4 at Oasis on 7th ave. south with Hillbilly Trucking Co. Outlaw/ Country Rock, we have a great time.

Kirk,
Check with the Jugtown Steel Boys> They should know. Try Bill Simmons or Tim Bridges.

Hey Kirk, welcome to Birmingham! Check the thread Bill Cook has going on the ASGA. You need to make it. Also, the second Sunday of every month, the Jugtown Steel Club meets in Gardendale at the Masons Lodge; starts about 1:30 pm. Send me an email. I don't know why, but there are alot of steel players surfacing in the area. There's a gang down in Cottondale/Tuscaloosa that get alot of playin' in. |

Kirk...let me know when you arrive in the area. Since I've been living in Birmingham (5 months) I have met a number of steel players (about 14 players) just around the Birmingham region...steel guitar is coming alive again around here in my opinion!
Every Monday night there about four of us steel players, two electric players, bass, keyboards and drums jamming from 6PM-10PM...what a blast.
Thanks to Bill Cook, there is a renewed excitement and area players searching to meet new players.
