Here's a great clip that just turned up on YouTube of JayDee playing straight into his amp at a party recently. Unaccompanied, so you can really appreciate his tone and expression. A cool bar slant in there as well.

I heard it loud and clear. I gave him a standing ovation right here in the kitchen!!!

Okay - something's wrong with my set-up here; I've lost audio on YouTube! I just checked another clip.

Roger when I first tried it was muted. In the left side of the video tool bar was an "unmute" to click. Weird, I hadn't seen that on youtube before.
Great clip. Jay Dee can make it cry fer sure.

It's strange, Dave; yesterday I played a CD on my computer and, when my phone rang, I paused it. Then I forgot all about the CD I was playing and it must have stayed 'paused' all night long!

The JayDee clip happened to be the next thing I tried to listen to and I've since found and tried that 'mute' icon on YT but it makes no difference. I can no longer get any audio out of my PC!

Everything still seems to be plugged in properly so I'm at a loss....

Have you tried re-booting your computer, Roger? The often re-sets things like that...

Thanks - I'll try that.

Dunno if there's any conclusion to be drawn but the last CD it played was yours!!!!!!!

Aha!!!! I'd somehow hit the mute icon in my media player.

I can't think why - hitting 'mute' is the last thing you want to do when playing Jim Cohen's latest CD!!!

A question I wanted to ask for a long time: Was "Safe At Home" by the ISB the first recording he did or is there earlier stuff, and when and with whom did he first appear on stage?

Jay Dee, IMO it doesn't get any better.

Lot of counterpoint going on @ 2:07!

I'm in awe - playing in that situation without accompaniment and with the most basic equipment is surely a test of JayDee's exquisite touch. We know he's that good, of course, but it's illuminating to see his total command of the instrument on display.

That was great. Asked to play a song alone in a hurry. Hahhahaa, the best offer you get as a steel player.....
Love this song played by one of our heroes, JD-M.

With all the changes there have been, you still can't best the sound from a PP Emmons.
