I chased my tail for a couple of months weighing the pros and cons of keyless vs keyed head. I finally decided I could get over the 'funny look' of keyless, figured out the other specifics I was after and sent Bill an e-mail. He sent me back a nice response that said they could include my order in the next batch which would be finished some time in Oct..., but, on the other hand, he had one in stock that was exactly what I wanted (except with a keyed head!). Between my desire for instant gratification and the little devil on my shoulder that kept telling me "...see, this is just proof that God wants you to have tuning pegs on that thing...", and Bill's assurance that even their keyed guitars have excellent return, I decided that there was no reason to wait.
It's supposed to get here Saturday - I have a early afternoon gig and both my kids have soccer games so I'll be dashing home between each event to sit on the front porch waiting for the FedEx truck to drive up.
I'm stoked.

Looks great...you will like it. I got my Universal 12 keyless in April and love it. Bill builds great guitars and is very helpful |

That's a beautiful Williams, John. I remember when mine was being built. That anticipation is tasty, isn't it? Worth the wait, you'll see. _________________ Clinesmith consoles D-8/6 5 pedal, D-8 3 pedal & A25 Frypan, Pettingill Teardrop, & P8 Deluxe. |

Even though my steel is a shobud ldg with a coop changer and williams undercarriage...I consider it a williams. It sure ain't a shobud. Decals do not a steel make.. _________________ stelling banjos . shobud ldg and superpro/ martin hd28v weber mandolin, session 400, danelectro delay, korg d3200, bose L1 x2 |

I love my Williams. Had it in the case while I worked on non-pedal for a few months. Pulled it out yesterday and had forgotten about how good it played and sounded. You will love it.

After years and years of playing different brands and set ups, it took a Williams to get me settled on exactly the guitar that fits me right and feels and plays the way I like a guitar to. My next two guitars will be a Williams and a Justice, since I told Fred I would get one of his guitars. The Williams changer sets it apart from everything else. With the 700 Series, I can only imagine the way one feels/plays. The cost of the lacquer guitars is a plus also being it doesn't cost a small fortune to get one in lacquer instead of mica. The color on the one posted here is nice. Honeyamber, I think it is. I also like the burnt orange and boudeaux colors. |

Yes! The FedEx guy showed up at about 7:30 pm on Saturday. They managed to slam it into something hard enough to take a big gouge out of the aluminum edge on the case. I managed to file the nasty barb off before it inflicted any fatal injuries. The case did it's job - guitar was fine. In fact, the guitar is beautiful. I haven't had much time to play it yet. I spent a while this morning doing minor adjustments to the pedals and knee levers. It has a great sound, tons of sustain - tone monster. Now I just need to learn to play it well enough to do it justice.

I got a new Williams D10 8x8 in April, also Honeyamber with 705's. It has an unbelievable tone with a marriage of laquer guitar, wood necks and 705's. You'll grow to love it if you don't already. _________________ 2016 Williams D12 8 x 8, 2015 Williams D12 8 x 8, 2023 Williams S12 4 x 5, Milkman Amps, 1974 Gibson Byrdland |

Excellent, John. The stock picture looks pretty good, any chance of seeing a couple shots from the live in the flesh model? I bet the keyhead isn't bothering you at all! |

That photo actually is the 'in the flesh' guitar I got. The photo is obviously from Williams but it isn't just a 'looks like this' photo - that's my guitar. I haven't taken any photos of it in it's new habitat yet but I'll get some posted before long.
I love it already and am sure that sentiment will continue to grow as we get to know each other better! It's everything I hoped it would be and Bill and Tim Rudolph are a pleasure to deal with. |

John, I actually had a chance to play that exact guitar
a few weeks ago in his shop while visiting him. I will say
that guitar had the best tone of any guitar I have played
period. I don't know how Bill did it, but I was sold on Williams
from that point on. I actually thought about trading right then
and there for THAT guitar. You are one lucky guy.
That guitar is killer. _________________ Williams D-12 9x7, Emmons PP D-10, 8X5, Quilter SteeAire amp. |

Wow! It's good to hear that Albert. It is certainly the best sounding psg I've played but I haven't sampled many (and I've got a serious bias). Bill mentioned a few times in the e-mails we exchanged that it is an exceptional instrument. It's gratifying to get an 'independent third party' verification of that - thanks. I'm certain it's the last one I'll ever need. _________________ Williams S-10, Beard R-model, Gibson BR-4 lap steel, Fender lap steel, Brownface Princeton, Goodsell Custom 33, 70's Tele Thinline, Fubar Twangmaster, Fubar Custom Buckarooster, Collings CJ Mh flattop |

John - I agree with Albert on this guitar. I stopped by his shop at the end of July and he was kind enough to let me play it. The sustain is unreal! Here's the master himself with your guitar.

Thank you for sharing that photo Brian! I'm framing that one AND taping it to the inside of the case AND using it for my screen saver.
