Ok, I've read different ways by different players for chord placements with guitars, amps, etc. So, here's mine, in case someone can see a different way I might need to be setting things up. From guitar to Hilton VP in guitar jack, now we go from one of the VP jacks to a DD3 delay which is mounted on my pac-a-seat, from the delay I go directly to the high gain jack on the front of a 112. With this, I get a clean and clear sound with plenty of headroom. Any changes need to be made? I'm not a electric tech type player but can rebuilt guitars easily. Thanks in advance. |

With that combination that is the most common way of doing it.
I do basically the same thing, Guitar to Hilton VP to PODX3 (used only for effects, not amp sim's) to high gain input on amp. |

Billy - If it's working for you, you are good. However, you should try plugging your effects into and out of the pre EQ patch on the front of the amp. The amp is made to work that way, but some folks also do it the way you are. Also, try the low gain on the front of the amp. It's a different sound & feel. Experiment and find whats good for you. _________________ Just 'cause I look stupid, don't mean I'm not. |

When I use the N112 amp, I go steel to Hilton pedal
to High Gain input on amp. My RV-3 is connected to
Post EQ patch (Send & Return jacks on front of amp)
I found that this way produces a cleaner sound for me.

With either a single amp or dual amp set up, I plug my steel directly into whatever efx i am using first then to my VP > AB switch > amp (s)
I want the full signal driving my efx |

I have a question about putting stompboxes in the effects loops on the amps. Since my amp is usually 3 to 6 feet behind me, I would have to use longer cords to get to the effects pedals, which need to be close enough for me to reach. Does this add any noise or loss of fidelity? _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Help with keeping all that adjustable
That is using an effect box on legs that I have sold several of lately.

Richard, since the signal is already preamped going to the pedals I think long cables won`t make a difference. _________________ Olli Haavisto
