Just got this PM from a forum member:
Hey Ken,
Just got done putting the Tone Mod in the Nashville 112 I e-mailed you about. Daune Dunnard got this amp in for me last Monday Shipped it on Wednesday I got on Friday. No problems the chips went right in like the ones I ordered from you a couple years back.
Hope this helps with some of the concern we have been reading on the Forum. Didn't take any pic's cause there was no problem. Had there have been problems I would have made pic's.
Thanks for all you do to help the Steel Players get the most out of their amps.
Regards,
Steve |

I wonder what the deal is or was with the ones with the soldered in chips? Were some made in China and then production moved back to the US? |

Moved back to the US? Not unless the price doubled! |

Maybe Peavey got a run of boards built without IC sockets by mistake, and went ahead with using them to avoid the cost of dumping them. Just guessing. I've seen this with other manufacturers. _________________ Best regards,

Just got my new 112 today from forum member Steve Whetstone (great price and service!) and also got chips from Ken. Ordered the new 112 with fingers crossed that it accepted the Fox chips. It did.
Circuit board is dated 5/1/12, so I'm guessing Peavey has this all worked out. It's the USA model, too. And sounds sweet with the chips. |
