I am having a hard time troubleshooting this mystery in my effects chain. I am running an AB set-up, A-channel is PSG-Black Box-volume pedal. B-channel is 6 string. Then AB switch into POG-volume/wah-tremelo-delay. So when I switch to six string I get major tone suck. Heres the thing, it only occurs when I go through the entire chain. If I use the AB set-up on it's own, or with ANY individual effect, everything is great, it's just when all pedals are combined I lose tone ONLY on the six-string, PSG never seems to get affected at all. Any theories as to what is happening here?

If your six-string had a buffer (BB) like your steel does you'd have no problems. Any non-true-bypass pedal can be a buffer... do you have an extra Roland pedal laying around? Even bypassed, they have a unity-gain buffer going on that isolates the high-impedance pickup on the 6 just like your BB is doing for your PSG.

Does the tone-suck go away when the POG is engaged? It may be that the POG has a low-impedance input and may not be true-bypass... more info needed.

You might try reversing the order of the POG/vol-wah... the VW might have a buffer included that would help.

My ears are totally fatigued now after trying so many pedal combinations. I think the culprit may have been low battery in the active wah/volume, but I still can't see why it would only affect the 6 string, and not the psg.
Can anyone point me to a good tutorial on buffers?
