Hi, Everyone,does anyone know what pots gibson would have used on there 40s and 50s,guitars, range also can any one tell me the difference between 250k,and 500k its that i am not to technical when it comes to guitar wiring,just would like to know. |

You will get more highs with the 500K pot.
Gibson also used some pots that were "300K" and you can still get them. |

hi Michael, a good rule of thumb is.......250k for single coil pickups and 500k for humbuckers........Tommy |

Just a note on the pots used by Gibson. My 1949 Gibson Console Grande has 500K pots for Volume and Treble. The bass pot is 50K. |
