John Floyd....RIP

Post by Jerry Hayes »

John Floyd passed away last night (8-7-12) at 8:12 PM. He'd been transfered to a rest home. His oldest daugher Pam was with him and holding his hand at his passing. As soon as arrangements are made I'll be posting that info.........JH in Va.

Joe, hope you are doing ok. Appreciate the notice today about John. Only wish I could be there but we have serious problems, medical wise, here at home too which keeps me close to home 24/7. Give my best to John's family for me.

I'm sorry to hear of John's passing. He was pretty active around the forum here several years ago. We never met in the flesh, but we shared a few emails and jokes. Quite pleasant man.

Sincere condolences to the family.

I just got off the phone with John's daughter Pam as she called to give me the funeral info. They'll be having an outdoor service in the pavillion at the Alfred G. Horton Memorial Veteran's Cemetary in Suffolk, Va. at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 14th. There's an obituary on the Twiford Funeral Home website at: www.twifordfh.com They have a place on the site which you can send condolences to the family. John will be cremated. If you'd like to make a donation in his memory they'd like it to be to the Shriner's Children's Hospital... There will be a Navy Chaplain officiating at the ceremony as John was a CPO in the US Navy at the time of his discharge.....JH in Va.

Thanks Joe for the info. This is a hard one, John and I were good friends from the time I met him in Nashville yrs ago.
