This is unbelievable.Million to 1 chance of happening..
I went to a Pawn shop to look for an accoustic guitar and while I was trying out an old Gibson Dove I spotted a Rick 4001 Black and white Bass Guitar..I told the guy I had loaned one to a guy up North and never seen him or the axe again..I asked to see it and after looking it over I found my etched name on the top between the keys..Faded a little but never the less ledgable..He told me he has had it over a year and had swaped it for a Camera.I bought the Gibson and and gave him half of what he wanted for the Bass..A good deal and got an old friend back..I had learned last year that the person I loaned the bass to had died..I gave up on seeing that bass ever again..Its been beat up a little but still plays well and will be nice in my little studio..PS I got it back for 175.00..Case and all and a decent strap and new set of strings that were in the case..

I loaned the Bass with an Amp to a guy who lived in Palmer Massachusetts and was a real good friend of one of my old Guitar players who had played with him in bands around the Springfield area ,I think about 87-88..I bought the equipment in 1976-77 . And it was only about a year old then...Somehow it made it down From Mass to new Port Richey Fl...I forgot how heavy it was..DOUG; Remember that Peavy 500 you sold me?..I loaned it to Chuck that very weekend and I've never seen it again..LOL..

Returning Bass
Joe great news about getting your bass back. I know how you must feel. I had a J-50 stolen in Dec 1981 that I am still looking for. Serial 41100. If any of you guys run across it let me know. I really want that guitar back. Bought it on my 25th birthday in a pawn shop. Best sounding acoustic I ever had and a great player.

Had a Martin D-28 once
Hey Joe! Was doing a Jamboree at the Ranch House one Sunday, and left my D-28 in the hallway where everyone left their instruments. Naturally I had had a few drinks and didn't keep an eye on it. Yep it was gone when I got ready to go home!! Checked all the pawn shops in the area to no avail! Joe your right! Finding yours was a miracle my friend!!
Leigh,I use to leave my guitar on the stage at the Ranch after the Gig..I think we were going over some songs later one night at Gokeys house and I just took the guitar left the case...Yep the case was gone when I showed up the next night.. After that I took the Mikes home and anything light...The Ranch is no more but I'm Told Patty or Paddy Walker still is.
