Paul Franklin stuff

I recently added the Franklin pedal (P4) (with a lot of help from the forumn!) and am now considering changing my "g" lever to raise full step instead of half and adding the D#->E raise as well. I play in a band that does a lot of PF songs, so I thought getting close to his setup would make it easier .
I've done a few searchs on the forumn and found some helpful stuff so far (mostly on the Franklin pedal).
I saw PF has two cds for sale on both these changes and I have 2 questions about these:
(1) How hard is it to learn by cd without tab? I know this is the way it used to be done, just not sure how I would like it.
(2) Do the cds contain the actual ideas behind the pedals/levers (theory,etc...) or is it more on the lines of "here's a lick in D...here's an intro in A...etc?
Thanks!
PS. Maybe this is in the wrong section?
