TX: Billy Mata & The Texas Tradition.

Post by Roger Edgington »

Our Band (Billy Mata & The Texas Tradition.) will be playing saturday night for the reopening of Pat's Hall in Fredericksburg, Texas from 8-12. If you want to dance and have fun come on out. Fredericksburg is a great place to spend the week-end. Lots of antique stores and other specialty stores and great restaurants and Bed & Breakfast Lodging.

Texas Tradition

Great group of musicians. Great arrangements and song selection. They are keeping the tradition alive, but also mixing more current stuff to keep it interesting. And, they are nice guys.

Thanks Jim. Sorry I haven't been to the Katy jams. San Antonio has one now and it falls on the same Sunday.

Roger, We wouldn't expect you to make the trip too often, especially competing with San Antonio. We do get David Waters on a regular basis and he is a great addition.

We had a great crowd last night. They started turning people away after 550 people. Everyone danced around the hughe oak tree, It provides about about a 100 ft umbrella.

Glad to hear Pat's hall is starting up again and glad you all played the first show! I have gone around the oak tree many times in the younger day!

A finer musical group than this is hard to find, and Roger - you're a prince and a great player. I've enjoyed the festivals we've done together this year. Will ya'll be in Abilene 8/24? Jody

Thanks Jody, We're really lucky here in Texas to play the gigs we play. We won't be in Abilene we play Ft Worth that saturday and then I'm on my way to St Louis. I'm playing the Hawiaan room this year.

This is absolutely the best western swing band today. It's worth the trip (from anywhere) to hear them perform. Roger and the rest of the gang are great musicians and great guys to hang with.
