Carvin D6 console

Post by Jim Rossen »

I am trying to decide if I should drive far to look at a Carvin D6 console as shown in this link-

How do these sound and play? I have read the forum archives and wonder if someone has more to add.

Thanks

I have never played a Carvin. I built a 10 string non-pedal steel using one of their 10 string pickups. I am really pleased with the sound I get from it. I am sorry that they no longer offer their 10 string steel guitar pickup. If the Carvin sounds anything like the one I built, I think you will be pleased. :)

provided that it has had TLC you can;t go wrong with a Carvin. I have had three and let people talk me out of them like a dumb a$$. If I ever obtain another I,ll hang on to it for dear life cc

I have an early issue D6 with rough cast aluminum bridges and nuts, then had/sold a later issue D8 w/plastic parts and newer PUs which overall had a much different tone, but the D6 sounds exceptionally good.
