I noticed the volume and tone knobs appear to be the kind used on the mid-1930's Rickenbacher FryPans and earliest Bakelites......that being the flat hexagon or whatever type knobs.

C. Kahlmen.

Here's another Kahlman lap steel. There is very little info about these guitars on line. Someone said they were made in Elizabeth NJ, but I'm not so sure about that. It looks like pre-war or maybe just post war. I read about a D-6 Kahlman on line, but no pictures.

Since it is a central NJ ad, it could be a steel that was made in Elizabeth.
