Hey everyone, I would like to say thanks to Del Mullen for asking me to sing with him on the Big Stage in St. Louis this year, it was a real honor!!!
But now for some other real cool news in case you have not heard>>>, Astronaut and Flight Engineer, Steve Robinson from the Space Shuttle was at the Steel Guitar Convention to say Hi to everyone and show how much he really loves the Steel Guitar and while he was there, made it known that he played 2 CD's while he was in outer space on this last mission, the Great Jerry Byrd and Our very own Del Mullen's new CD.
I got a chance to hang with Steve for some time out there, and he said to me "That there is nothing like listening to Del and Jerry play in total weightlessness, laying on your back and looking back at Mother Earth and the Stars".
So Congrats Del, on having your music played, Out of this World!!!!!!
God Bless You and Dixie, and Mike and Shawn, I love you all like Family!!!!!
P.S. Linda says Hi Dixie!!!!! |

I can't Imagine a nicer guy than Steve Robinson. He's in good company with the steel guitar community. |

I keep repeating, but I just can't imagine stepping outside of a ship traveling at 17,000 miles per hour, as Steve did. I've slowed down so much at my age, I'd be afraid that sucker would run off and leave me.

I'd add to Mike's post that the steel guitar community is in good company with Steve Robinson---we're all elevated by his interest and participation! |

It's been a fun summer.
St. Louis was a great experience - so many legendary players and even more newfound friends. There has never been better inspiration to sit down and practice. And I had no idea how late steelers could stay up!
Thanks to all for the hospitality, especially to Scotty!!
