There's an old saying, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." In my case, "My absence makes the show grow better." I'm a member of the club, but am stuck for the moment out of state. If I know Jack Stoner, Don Sulesky, Blake Hawkins and Lynn Owsley, this will be one fine day of steel guitar with lots of great players.

Jack what "other things" I would like to know so I can tell if it's safe to be there. Image

Jack D.

I'm not surprised that you had to change strings. The great stuff you do on steel is bound to wear theough the windings in short order. I haven't yet figured out how one guy can be so talented as to fly a commercial airliner and learn that many good licks on steel. Knock 'em dead at the show.

Your buddy,

Roy

Jack and Roy...

Not to worry....The strings are a functional change...the other is a bath...
I'm a week early for the regular wash..so I have to make an exception for the show..

Roy..you will be missed at the show..I also hope you are feeling better...You have been given many kudos by your fellow steel players..and for my money... all very well deserved...I humbaly would like to add my name to the list...Hope to see you soon..

I hope Jack D. don't put a jet engine on that steel, he's fast enough. and we will miss you Roy, this show is always a great group, and we have a lot of fun doing it. I'm getting excited knowing it's just around the corner, and hope Catfish has got that fish on the grill. Mmmmmmmm, gooooood.

We are considering moving the Anniversary Show to mid winter (maybe February) for the next one. Hopefully Roy will be home and be able to pick at that one.

BTW, I'm getting a lot of calls about tickets so it looks like we may have a good turnout at the show.

Ernie, You better be cafefull, you won't be able to find those peddles, but at least I won't have to look at those holes in your sock.

All foolishness aside, we have a great bunch of guys who'll be doing their best to give everyone a great show.
Least let's not forget how lucky we are to have the great "Ray Riggs" on lead guitar in our backup band.
See you guys there, Larry, Ernie,Blake and a pair of Jacks.

Thanks, Mike. I hope we have a good turnout. We were thinking of you yesterday while we were setting up for the show.

Through default (no one else would do it) I get to open the show today (or should I say the rest "close" for me Image )
