I am not sure where to put this post so feel free to move it where it fits most appropriately, thanks!

Hello everyone!!! I have great news!!! I will be joining multi-platinum winning country music artist, Neal McCoy on tour starting in May of 2012!!! After weeks of emails and video auditions, for which I invested in a new cool camcorder, lol, I received an offer, and gladly accepted!!!

This is what I was born to do, play country music!!! And after 13 years in Branson, MO and nearly two years in Phoenix and another year back home in the St Louis area, I will be getting back on track in the Nashville groove!!! Even though I may be living in Texas for a bit, LOL!!!

This past year has been a bit shaky and uncertain for me! One of the highlights was getting to work with some great folks and a great band, Doc Holiday from the St. Louis area!!! Working some great venues and meeting some wonderful people!!! Along with rekindling friendships and a few special relationships with some very special people I have known most of my life!!!

This is not the end of Doc Holiday nor is it my complete departure from them!!! We are still in the process of recording our CD and I was in the studio recently to complete my portion of the project. Please continue to support this great band and great group of folks I consider to be family!!! Ill be back occasionally to visit and hopefully sit in!!!

Speaking of family, I have been living with and spending a lot of time with my parents during portions of this last year! These two wonderful people have bent over backwards doing everything possible to help me out during some very rough times!!! Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they begin to enter their Golden Years!!! Nearly 57 years of marriage has been a wonderful example for all of us to appreciate and admire, although one that I haven’t been able to live up to!!! Congratulations you lovebirds!!!

I will share more details about my new gig as they become available!!!

Thank You Neal McCoy for your trust and faith in me! I will always do my best for you!!! Looking forward to rockin the house!!!

Hey Michael,
Congrats on your gig. Toward the end of June, Neal is scheduled to play in Des Moines, Iowa at an outdoor concert with a few other artists. I play steel with a local guy named Jason Brown and we are also on the bill. I think we are second in the line-up at this point. Make sure you stop by and say "hi." I'd love to meet you and talk shop for a while.

Way to go Mike! Congradulations! A few years ago, we opened for Neil here in Troy. I was very impressed with his sincere friendlyness toward our group and all the fairgrounds concert staff. Good luck, and safe travels.

Thanks Guys!!! Rehearsals went pretty good! First shows tomorrow in Austin, Texas and Saturday in DeQueen, Arkansas! Think it will go very well! Me and the drummer are the new guys so I guess that makes us both up for rookie of the year......... again!!! LOL!!!

Glenn, if you were with Neal in 95, when Daron Norwood opened for him, then we probably met!!! I was playing steel and acoustic with Daron in 95 and Holly Dunn in 96. Then I went to Branson for 13 years and Phoenix for almost two! Looking forward to being back on the road!

John, Thanks man! Maybe i can finally get my new Justice this year!!! I hope I deserve that too!!! LOL!!!

Ricky, Got the low down on you from your brother Dave today! He doesnt look much like you I guess, lol but laid out some tremendous BBQ for us today!!! Wow!!! Texas BBQ is hard to beat!!! Yum!!! Anyway, he says he sure likes having a steel back in the band!!! Im doing steel, fiddle, mandolin, acoustic and electric guitars. Maybe throw some trumpet and flugelhorn features in later. Right now, just the basics, lol! But that was still about 52 songs in about two weeks! LOL!!! Whew!! Ill sleep good tonight!

Dave Alfstad, Ill be sure and look you up!

Danny, Tommy Nash is an amazing guitarist!!! I hope that i can get all these twin and unison licks down!!! Hes just soooo smooth!!! As a matter of fact, the whole band is great!!! Tommy, Jon Jon, Mo, Ben, Becky and Nick, along with a great couple of Cajun sound techs and awesome drivers!!! This may be my best year yet!!!

Thanks again everyone!!!

Im going to be looking for some road cases... Kevin Hatton, do you build the flight style cases, or the standard carpet cases, or both? May I email you for a quote on a case for a standard Emmons D-10 LeGrande? Thanks.

Hay there heard about this from Denny and there is a nice article in the Southwestern Steel Guitar Association newsletter.

Things like this is why people need to join the SWSGA just for the great newsletter and all the information.

Michael,
I have resigned from the group that is playing at that show. This is a development that has transpired within the last week, and I thought that Jason might want me to stick around to play the Country Blast. He didn't ask me to, and I didn't offer, so it looks like I won't be there. Have a great show, and I'm sorry to miss the opportunity to meet and talk with you.
