Aloha Kakou,

Tomorrow is the 3rd Sunday of May, which means you are cordially invited to attend the monthly Waimea Valley Kanikapila! Come join 2011 Na Hoku Hanohano Award nominees the Abrigo 'Ohana for a true Hawaiian experience. Our mission is to perpetuate traditional Hawaiian music. All level of players are welcome. You don't need to be a great musician, all you need is Hawaiian music in your heart. Come sit in the kanikapila circle and play music, or as a spectator at the tables and seats available in the awesome Pikake Pavillion in beautiful Waimea Valley.

This month is very special... Waimea Valley is building Kama'aina and Military Appreciation Day around Kanikapila! Locals and military can come early and tour beautiful Waimea Valley in the morning, then grab a delicious, healthy lunch at the Na Mea Ono and settle in to enjoy and share in LIVE Hawaiian music. Admission to Kanikapila is FREE, to tour the Valley as kama'aina or military is $5 for adults $2.50 for children (Hawaii state or military ID required). Come help us kick off Waimea Valley Kanikapila with Kama'aina and Military Appreciation Day!

Abrigo 'Ohana will provide a sound system that can accommodate everyone who wishes to plug into the amplified system. Please bring an instrument cable if you intend to plug in. Outside amplification is not allowed to ensure proper volume etiquette to all kanikapila attendees and to prevent audio issues. Please note that there will be video taping of the event for broadcasting on public televisions Olelo channel. The production will also be uploaded to Youtube for the world to share.

Alcoholic beverages & outside food are prohibited at Waimea Valley. However, refreshments are available at their concession stand. We really hope to see you there to share in the wonderful experience that is the kanikapila.

Warmest Aloha,

the Abrigo 'Ohana Very Happy
