Lowering string 6 on E9 neck

Do many steel players have this change all by itself on a lever, or is there a common secondary change that either compliments it or works well independently? I want that change on RKL for my new steel and I'll have 5 knees. Verticle lever will raise strings 1 and 7 and RKR will lower strings 2 and 9. E lowers and raises done on LKR and LKL.

I have it on RKR with no other E9 changes, but the lever does activate 2 strings on the C6th neck. Some add the first string raise to G# and the 2nd string raise to E on the same lever.

I have it with 1 to G. I don't know how many others do, but that was on a Tab and LP instructional thing I got from Buddy Emmons so long ago that LP was the standard format.
I'm so fond of it, it will appear as an inside LKR on my Bb6 Unified.

I lower strings 3 and 6 and 10, G#'s to G, on RKL2 on my S12U.
I have two RKL levers.
RKL2 is near the front apron (like under string 3).
RKL1 is closer to me near the rear apron, and it is a little to left of RKL2 so I can fully enguage RKL2 without enguaging RKL1 at all.
I don't use them at the same time.
Untill I get "Forward" moving knee levers, I'll have 2 RKL levers on one knee I guess.
I have this change on Pedal-0 (to the left of the A-Pedal) on some of my Steels.

I have it on my LKR along with a raise on 1 & 2.

I lower 6 and raise 1 on RKL on my Mullen SD10.
Both changes are full steps.

I lower string 6 to F# and string 3 to G on my LKV.
with the split on string 6 to get the G there also.

On Dekley and GFI I lower both 3d and 6th string to F# with RKL. With pedal B activated I get tuned split to G for both strings.

On My BMI, it is on a Zero pedal, left of the A pedal. (Emmons setup). i'm getting used to it, and it gives you a nice minor in open position, and a diminished if you use it with 5 ans 10 half tone lower.

Right Lane. John has one on his Mullen. I believe he said that Jim Palenscar made it or helped John make it. It is real strange watching John use it (but then again, John has always been a little strange - just kidding John, you know I love ya).

This is all food for thought. I think I like the idea of having the 1st(whole) and 2nd string(half) raise. I've had that before and liked it. I just didn't like feel-half stops and gladly traded it for the half step on 1 and 7 for it. I guess a lever with 3 changes may be a little stiff too. Maybe I'll just raise string 1 a whole with it.

I have the 6 string lower on RKL along with whole tone raise on string 1 and half tone raise on string 2. I also lower string 3 (C6) half tone, on the same lever. it's a little stiff but not bad. You shouldn't have any trouble with 3 changes on RKL.

Terry, is that lever moving 3 strings tougher to pull than the other levers? What steel are you playing?

Fred, I play a Sho-Bud Pro II 84 model, and a 93 pre RP Mullen. I have same changes on both steels. Actually I'm pulling 4 strings with RKL String 1,2,6 and 3 on C6. Yea, it's a little stiffer than a 2 and 3 string pull, but it's really not that bad. I think a lot of players pull 4 strings with one lever.

My string 6 lower is on my RKL along with raising strings 1 and 2. My split is on string 6 as well with the B pedal depresseds and RKL in. You can get some pretty sounding counterpoint moves with this neat setup, although I have to say Keith I like what you have going on there too!

Like others, I lower 6 and raise 1 & 2 on the same lever- RKL in my case.
It is very handy to lower 6 a whole tone as well as a half. Lower 1/2 and you get a minor from the open position. Lower whole & lowers your Es and you get a very handy 5 chord from open.
I have set mine up so that 6 drops 1/2 step before strings 1&2 start to raise- so I can feel the 1/2 step posn. However, I mostly use the whole tone drop- in both open and pedal down positions.
