You should be able to find plenty of unconventional steel playing in the Different Styles thread on the forum. My most recent discovery on the forum has been Gary Newcomb, who accompanies himself singing on PSG.

Aaron Goldstein out of Canada with City & Colour. Dallas Green is the front man. Chatted with Dallas after a show and he loves the steel and tours with Aaron as his steeler. Great player. Gotta repect an artist who repects the steel! Smile
