Anyone know who played on the Rusty Tracks Album? Especially "I don't know if I ever got to say goodbye. Awesome playing.

That was Buddy Emmons. That album had a whose who of players on it. Mick was a dear friend and I sorely miss him. Makes Me Wonder If I Ever Said Goodbye was so great. Buddy Spicher on fiddle, Larry Gattlin singing harmony. The whole album was stunning, but all of his albums were. He was a consumate writer, singer, and player. There is a site that has a list of the players on the album and if I can figgure out how to put a link on here I will.

There is a keyboard player called Bobby Emmons who worked at American Studios, who was sometimes mistaken for Buddy. Buddy mentioned this once before.

Hmmm...
I wasn't paying enough attention to the Credits list...

It shows:
Bobby Emmons Guitar (Steel), Keyboards
Buddy Emmons Guitar (Steel), Keyboards

I assumed it was a double listing and deleted one of the entries. Wonder if Bobby plays steel?

Thanks for the information. I cannot believe as much music as I have played and been involved with that Mickey is a stranger as a performer. This man was an amazing talent. I have spent the last day listening to his music and seeing is influence on artist that are better known.
And as I said before, the steel playing is what I envision as what steel is, and I can easily see that album as being a list of some of the finest musicians that have been. Thank You all who added to this thread.
