Wow.! ! ! It looks like a great schedule . This is the finest line up in many years . Lots of good players , the prettiest venue of any steel club , great amenities , BUT......what happened ? I don't see Wayne Morton's name anywhere . I hope that changes

I'll play the no shows, & by the way I'll be playing with the legendary Larry King on vocals & bass, Duane Carger on drums & Ben Lawson on Fiddle for the Thurs night dance after the Saggy Bottom Boys play. Looks like a great lineup.

My best advice.........brush up on the shuffle fours. We'll be pulling out some obscure Tillis and others and hopefully "dance their socks off" . Can someone say Ray Price , Faron Young , Mel Tillis , Darrell McCall , Curtis Potter , Johnny Bush.....we hope to bring all those guys . Put your two step shoes on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That cleared that up!!!! We'll get to hear Wayne Morton if there's a 'no show' and Larry King can sing just as good as all the guys he mentioned.

Really looking forward to this show. It will be my first time playing there, Hope I don't get kicked out.
Just want everyone to know that the very lovely Jean DeVore will be at the show. Of course, she will sing on my set. I need all the help I can get.

Thanks to the club for having me. Larry

Dummy me, I forgot to put Mr. Piano on the schedule, Roy Rosetta. Maybe I'll get fired before next year. Also Mr. M C Bobby Bowman. We're getting closer.

Wally

I'm not Wayne but I can give you directions and such . Western Hills Lodge at Sequoyah State Park is located on Hwy 51 approximately 8 miles east of Wagoner , Ok on the shores of Fort Gibson Lake . A very beautiful and picturesque site and according to Cherokee legend , the steel guitars sound great out there and never break a string . How cool is that .

Mickey, I'm glad to hear that you're going to be able to make the show. Are you flying or driving in? If you need a ride from the airport, let me know the time & location and I will pick you up. The old Ram is used to hauling Mullen guitars. Rick

It is with great regret I had to notify Wayne Morton that I had to cancel. I had unexpected knee surgery and have been off work for seven weeks with two more to go. I was looking forward to playing and meeting some new steel players. I hope this show is a great success and hopefully I can make next years show. Thanks Wayne for offering me a slot and I hope I did not put you in a bind. You guys and gals have a great time.

Can anyone tell me what happens 7 days from now ?? In the words of Ed Sullivan , we have a 'really big shew for you tonight' .
That's right , the Oklahoma Steel Guitar Association annual Memorial Day show will happen . I understand that it's the best player list in many years , along with an assortment of vendors where you'll be able to find the latest widget...Hey I'm just trying to save you a trip to St Louis...it's a lot cheaper don'tcha know . Mickey Adams has offered his skills and his replacement parts for your Mullen .
Then if that's not enough , dancing with Leona Williams on Fri and Sat night should be enough to get you off the fence .I'll tell you one thing for sure....Western Hills Lodge located at Sequoyah State Park in Wagoner , Ok is a lot prettier than St Louis , and in this day of economic downturn , it costs less to get here , and finally {one of my pet peeves} you don't have to pay to park . Whoa babies , you talk about a deal !!!!!!!!!!
It begins on Thurs May 24 , continues on Fri May 25 , Sat May 26 , and Sunday May 27 . Be with us , won't you .
