can you recone 8ohm speaker 4ohm?

i've got a great sounding 63 bassman head i play non-pedal thru and want to get a 15" to replace the 2x12". its a 4ohm transformer and i know i could just use an 8ohm and be safe, but lets say i bought a used JBL 130/Altec 418 thats blown - could that be reconed to 4ohms?

Yes. Somebody who lives in your area should be able to suggest a good speaker tech to do this for you.

Yes. Dr. Z had one of proprietary Celestion 10s re-coned for me. No big deal.

Get a reconing kit and do it yourself. It isnt that hard.

Or just send it to Woody Woodell in Nashville. A great re-cone shop.
