Johnny Farina of the legendary duo Santo and Johnny is coming to Mexico City in August.

Everyone knows Santo and Johnny from Sleepwalk, and Teardrop, And I love her, but probably not a lot know that Santo and Johnny were huge hits in Mexico too. They were awarded Mexico's highest musical award for their version of the Beatles' song, "And I love her", in Spanish called, "Y la amo".

Mr. Farina has a new CD out now and is coming to Mexico City to do 2 concert shows and personal appearances on some of the local TV and radio shows, and it's my pleasure and honor to announce that I'll be accompanying him on guitar for his concerts and whatever other live performances he wishes. I'm assuming the radio shows will do a live interview with him and play a cut from the CD, and I don't even know yet exactly what the TV shows will do, but I'll be there on the concerts and anything else I can.

Anyone who's going to be in the Mexico City area (OK, I know that's not going to be a lot of you from the forum here, but you never know...!), don't miss Johnny Farina while you're here. I'll email the times and dates to anyone who needs them.

Looking forward to it!

I got to chat with him back stage after a concert I attended. I showed him pictures of my high school band back in the 60's. Nice guy.
