Well, a few months ago I found a Studio-Pro 50 on Ebay for 55 bucks. I couldn't resist as it is identical to the amp my folks bought for me when I was 16...my first amp. My daughter is that age now, she is playing some. You know how it is.

I plugged the amp in and it was silent. I had an old Scorpion 12" from that same era (1986-1988) and bam! it works and sound great(ish). I've been using it for steel a bit, and kinda like it. 50 watts, 1-12 and reverb, distortion, pull-bright, pull-thick and volume, gain, master, treble, middle, bass. In other words, lots of controls.

What speaker would tune it for steel even more; it is set for 8-ohms output. And, are there any mods for the tone-stack that might be more clear in the mids? I play a U-12.
