Anyone know about this amp ? I would be using it for lap and home practice probably. They are asking $400.

Thanks, David

Had one and it gave me nothing but problems. Its pushing 50 watts through EL84 tubes (too much) and after a month needed tubes, then it happened two more times within three months. I sold it for a loss. Didn't like it for guitar never tried it for steel.Might be OK for lap since not very clean. Unreliable, I would pass. For home, you could do better and cheaper.

Yeah, they sound good on paper (an advertisement), but best to move on. BTW, if you absolutly beat an el-84 or 6BQ5, you get 9 watts. Times 4=36, no 50 watts there! AND when you beat 'em, you get serious harmonic distortion and mushy tone. Now 4 of them in a 20-30 watt configuration...lowered voltages in certain places...magic!! Trainwreck amps are stellar and $10K. Best of luck, lots of good amps out there, don't hesitate to ask on the Forum! Smile

Yeah, but you get a Carvin X-30 or X-60 and it's over! Tube warmth and bell-like chimes at volumes PLENTY loud and CLEAN. Had a couple. It's true, they are the poor mans Boogie.
