I decided it would be an excellent time to post a vido of our friend, the late Herby Wallace.

I dug back to 1989 when Herby was in his prime and thought this video fitting for today "Time Changes Everything" (and it does for sure).

Also on the video are:
Tommy Williams - Fiddle
Bobby Caldwell - Guitar
Roy Rosetta - Keyboard
Russ Wever - Bass
Jimmy Queen - Drums

Let me know if you want more.

Enjoy,
Bill

Speaking of Tommy Williams how is he doing since the accident?Haven't heard much about him lately.

Loved the way Bobby would get that grimace on his face & lift that right leg. Laughing Laughing

Sure miss my buddy, miss both of them!!

Thank you, Bill! I would request you find one where Herby plays "All of Me." Even though we do not always say it, we appreciate you posting all of these steel guitar videos. Yes, we want more!

Herby always sounded great no matter what he played. I've seen him play a variety of guitars over the years.

One of my all time favorite Herby shows was, I think maybe, 2004 ISGC. It was the last show I saw Ben Brogdon play before Herby had his stroke. The band was smokin' hot and the tune, as someone else mentioned, All of Me.

I started playing steel guitar in 1994, and the first time I went to St. Louis was 1996. I remember the feeling of being in absolute awe at the virtuosity on display from all of the musicians.
When I watch this video it gives me that same feeling. Herby Wallace was such an inspiration to me, and Bobby Caldwell was in a league of his own! I can't believe they are both gone.
New steel players will never know what it is like to go to the ISGC and see Herby Wallace, Buddy Charleton, Jerry Byrd (who was there the first year I went), John Hughey, Hal Rugg, Jimmie Crawford, Tom Brumley, Tom Morrell, and other greats such as the Big E, who no longer play the shows. Maybe it's for the best that they don't know what they're missing. I can't help but wonder how the convention will be this year.
