I joined this forum about 6 months ago after buying my first lap steel and since then I have been amazed at the way members have shared their knowledge and expertise. In this day and age of everyone for themselves it is very refreshing to be a part of such a caring group. I've seen people not only give valuable advice but send fellow members parts, offer assistance in cases of hardship, not to mention prayers for members in need. I could name names but sure that I would inadvertently leave way to many out, so just want to say that it is a honor for me to be part of such a fine group and long live the Forum!!

I have been on the receiving end from this forum and the steel community at-large for a long time. After a while, you really begin to consider these folks to be true friends, even if you've never met.

Tom, your post just reminded me of a thing that happened to me a few months ago. I received a p.m. from a forum member, who is also a record collector. He asked me if he had anything for me! Of course he had and he sent me a record I was looking for, for a long time. Even if he didn't have anything for me, I would have taken his intention alone as an enourmous sign of kindness.

When I was ready to jump from guitar to steel I would have done it with this forum here or not. But...this forum has SO enriched that process. Would have been a much different story otherwise. Met some great folks here. Gotten a TON of help from good hearted souls. Love it.
