I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a Beard/Goldtone PBKG Square Neck (flat top) guitar sight unseen.
It seems as If this guitar isn't too popular which is surprising considering that there aren't many non-resonator and non-Weissenborn square neck alternatives under $1000. or over $1000. for that matter.
Since the posting of the thread below (click on the link below), I was wondering if any of the form members played, or purchased the GoldTone PBKG Square Neck Flat Top Guitar, and If so what do you think about It? Thanks.

I played one at the Beard shop last year and liked it a lot-- balanced & full sound, very appealing acoustic tone. Don't think you'd be disappointed. |

Hi Stephan,
Thanks for your reply. I'm glad to hear to that you like It. I'm surprised I didn't get more responses, good or bad. The lack of responses makes me think that this guitar isn't looked upon favorably.

I live close to the Beard shop and have played the guitar in question. I also own an 40's Oahu and a Regal/Harmony 7 string as well as a custom Hauver acoustic lap steel. The build quality is excellent and the sound is rich and woody. It's not a Wiessenborne but if you want a good hawaiian box it's worth the money. I like the old birch guitars but finding one without issues is hard. Buy new and play long! |

Hi Robert,
It's encouraging to hear that you and Stephan like the sound of the Goldtone PBK.
If I order It will be from the Beard shop because Mr. Beard said that they set up all their Beard/Goldtone guitars.
Thanks.
