How many of you have heard of the England dobro?
I bought this one some years ago from Folk Of The Wood in Ruidoso, New Mexico. I think all they sell is instructional material, at present.
The way I understood it, this fellow, England, would buy the metal bodies from Dobro and fashion his own neck. It's a pretty neat instrument. What's rather unique about is that the neck joins the body at the 14th fret instead of the 12 fret like most resonators. This adds to the sustain and volume.

It's probably made by luthier Brian England out of Kentucky.

Here's a page on the England resonator guitars from the Folk of the Wood website.
Here's another page with a more elaborate England resonator guitar.

I've never seen one "in the wild" before.

Bryan England has a web site for Custom Inlay so I'm sure he's the one who built my guitar. On Folk Of The Wood they show an England guitar with very elaborate inlay.
