What a Great Weekend Jam in Arizona!!

Post by Billy Easton »

What a great time at the jam this past weekend in Apache Junction!! Saturday was a round robin play with Band in the Box tracks, with 15 steel guitars in attendance!! This included several out of state folks like Jimmy Adair, Big Jim Baron, Frank Carter, Jim Palenscar and the incomparable JAYDEE Maness!! Then on Sunday, Big Jim provided a free Band in the Box Seminar and then JayDee did a 3 1/2 hour class on his approach to the PSG. What a great class this was. Thanks to all who helped put this on and also to those who participated. It was GREAT!! To those of you who were not there, you missed out on one great weekend!! Keep tuned, cause we are gonna do it again in the fall!!

Billy-I know it must have been a great get together. That Round Robin sounds good and with Jay Dee there and Jim Baron giving a BIAB instruction, makes it all worth the trip.
Wish I could have been there....and Thanks for your Great C6 CD , I like your style of playing......al Image Image.

Well, you Arizona pickers are really living it up without me but you're having to do it by borrowing the California guys. While we shivvered in the 63o Coastal weather, you were diving for a cool spot in that golden Arizona oven.
I'm so glad the Copper state folks got together and created a fine organization to keep that talent close as a family. I'm almost jealous.
And Bob appears to be living the life as a Snowbird with that "be back in November" attitude. Good for you, Bob.
Now, can we have our California guys back?
Thanks. GW.

Okay Gary....
We missed you at the jam. But it is over for now, and the California guys should be back home by now. But we expect you to be present at the next one, probably in the fall when the weather cools somewhat. Thanks to all who participated and thanks to all who travelled so far to take part. I think it was a GREAT SUCCESS!! Now I got to go practice some JayDee licks!!

Wow, had a great time and esp. want to thank the people who showed up for my BIAB seminar. Had me really scratching the dirt a few times for some answers to their questons.
Also want to thank the "girls" who baked the bread, got the Subway sandwiches, kept the soda cold and coffee in the pot over the weekend.
Hope we do this all over again in the fall...)))) BigJim
