what is the best & Lightest wood to build a psg
wood or formica which is best?

Jerry, I'm not in any way a builder but I think you need to use a tough hard wood like hard rock maple. I know of a few steels that were built from die board and that stuff is as hard as steel. I myself prefer mica only because it will take more punishment, like dropping bars, etc, than the natural wood but the natural looks a lot prettier.
