I have two MM bass heads, a 150 and 65 watt, which I think sound exceptionally good for steel. Since I use outboard effects this is not a problem since neither of these have reverb. At times I have used both on gigs (for stereo) with what I think is good success. At home I have used a Nv 400 and the 150 watt. Last nite in a large hall I used the 400 and the 150 and got an incredible sound to my ear. What would happen if I came out of the second input of either amp into the input of the other. I realize this is a goofy question, but I am curious. I know you can slave one amp off another, but before I try it I need some reassurance as to the outcome. What I have done at home and last night is use two cords out of my effects to the amps and it works great.

if what you did worked - stick with it

when connecting two separate amps together you may create a nasty ground loop, so if you found a way to do it without a loud hum than I think you got it

Tim I did get a very slight hum, nothing that was not normal. I see no reason to change the hook up but I was just curious. Having used a rack system for several years with two speakers, I found this seems better to me.

You can try lifting the shield on one cable at the end that plugs into one of the amps to lose the ground loop

Or the other end of that cable at the pedal end

You basically want to use the shield as an extension of the chassis or one or the other, but not actually bridge the ground between the two

Also a Hum-X by Ebtech on the power cord end of one of the amps will solve it. I never leave home without mine and I always play through two amps.
