| Recently purchased a Peavey 'Prowler' amp and having a problem with the reverb connector. The reverb will cut out, but if the molex connector is wiggled it will resume working (for a while!). I realize these types of problems have been discussed before,any solution would be appreciated. |

If it were me, I'd remove the Molex connector and hard wire the connection.
I've always found those to be inferior and troublesome.
If you're not a do-it-yourselfer, any amp tech should be able to do that for you.

David,
The best cure is to solder the connections directly.
If you look at the female ends inside of the Molex connectors you will see that they are split down the sides. I have "fixed" reverb problems in three Peavey amps by cleaning the connectors with a good quality electronics spray, then squeezing them together from the outside of the Molex connector with pliers. You don't have to squeeze very hard in order to close them up enough to tighten the connections. The plastic isn't as brittle as it seems.
Some amps have Molex connectors under the head, above the speaker(s). Some have them inside of the chassis. Some have them in both places. I did this with all of the Molex connectors in my Peaveys. It stopped the reverb from cutting out, and stopped one amp's high pitched squeal. It might not work in all cases, but it did for me. Good luck.

| Jim..I followed your suggestion and cleaned and closed the female connectors and so far, this seems to have solved the problem. I do plan on hard wiring the connections asap however...Thanks so much to you and Lee for your help. |
