Country Band, Smokin Section, at Tuscora Park

New Philadelphia, OH – A live stage performance, for the public, will be performed by the band, “Smokin’ Section”, Sunday, June 26th at 7:00 PM.

A variety of classic country hits from Merle Haggard, “Workin’ Man Blues”, Johnny Cash, “Folsom Prison Blues”, Waylon and Willie, “Good Hearted Woman” and many others along with original songs written by Brian Harrington and Dave James.

The event will take place at the Amphitheatre in the Tuscora Park at North Broadway Street, Route 416.

Chuck Lipps of Little Hocking, Ohio organized the band in 1999, and is the ‘staff band’ for the Colgate Country Showdown talent shows held in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Mr. Lipps, organizer of the band, is also the drummer and does lead and back up for vocals.

The Ohio based band consists of bass player Mark Armbrecht, St. Clairsville. A former member of the Paisley’s band. He has toured nationally with various artists and has performed as a regular on Jamboree USA at Capitol Music Hall in Wheeling, WV.

Lead and acoustic guitar, Dave James of Norwalk. Lead back up for vocalist. Mr. James has recorded five albums of original material and was named Songwriter of the Year in Germany with a number one hit song on the German radio charts.

Keyboard player and back up vocalist, Brian Harrington of East Liverpool. Mr. Harrington has recently recorded two solo albums of original Christian music. He is a devoted writer, artist and youth minister. Brian has toured on the national level.

On steel guitar, Rick Troyer of Hummingbird Music Studio, Sugarcreek. Mr. Troyer, owner and instructor at the studio, plays acoustic guitar, Dobro, banjo - and is host to the Celebration 2006 Steel Guitar Show coming in April, to be held at The Holiday Inn, New Philadelphia, OH.

The public is welcome. Admission is FREE.
