The March 4 San Antonio Steel Guitar Jam Session was a great success. Roger Edgington, Dave Goodman, and Owen Barnes played pedal steels and Mark Mosely and Reggie Amos played non pedal steels.
Kenneth Piper played fiddle, guitar, bass, and vocals( he was one tired but happy man when this was over), Nancy Kozur on fiddle, Brian Folks on drums, with Mark Mosely filling in on rhythm guitar and Jim B. on lead guitar. Roger Edgington and Dave Goodman both filled in on bass. Owen Barnes and Kenneth Piper and Dave Goodman all performed the vocals. A big "Thank You" to the Converse American Legion for their facilities. The lunch sold was excellent hamburgers or brats.
Our next jam session will be April 1,2012(no foolin) again at the Converse American Legion in Converse, Texas...2 pm - 5 pm....Thanks go to Brian Folks and Kenneth Piper for their help in making the jams successful..jr

Well I swore I'd bring my stuff this time but I'm taking an exam the day before. My chores may need to shift to Sunday. If I miss it, I hope someone does Jail House Rock again...

Sorry, I can't be there this time around guys. Leaving Sunday to take a round trip to New Orleans, and up to Memphis! I will definitely miss seeing all my great friends at the area jam. Maybe when I see ya'll next time around, I'll be able to play some "blues" or "dixieland" on the steel! (Dixie Land on the steel...now there's a thought)

Hey Mike and Owen,
Mike please do not worry about your playing level. The jam sessions are to help us play with others and learn from others. You're going to do just fine.
Owen, we hope you have a great trip and look forward to you being back in May...jr
