| I can buy a pretty good fingertip sho bud for 700.00. Should I just Hang on to the dough or is it a pretty good investment? Maybe all are, but it's a d-10. |

Are you sure it's in good shape? It could be a deal of a lifetime, or a mess costing several hundred to make it playable. Don't jump till you know a few facts about these guitars, they can be complicated...but the tone!!!! 
I think you shoud contact James Morehead tonight and consult him about this. Just go to Pedal Steel and scroll down to the thread about new fingertip parts and private message him.

| Its not the best but I have seen a lot worse. Gonna check it out again. You know how these things alway seem to look better after you walk away. Needs a bunch of polishing. |

| That's a good price if all the parts are on it. Budget yourself money to have it restored. They sound fabulous. To me they were the best sounding Sho-Buds. Lloyd Green did some his best work on one. |

Also, learning how to take it apart, clean it and fix it will make you understand just what it's doing, so you end up better all the way around! Not to mention the tone!
