I thought I had posted this earlier today, but I must have not hit "submit"...if it shows up twice I apologize...

I was commenting on how lucky I am to have Al Brisco and his pedal steel shop, (Steel Guitars Canada), so close to me. A few years back when I took an interest in pedal steel guitar I stumbled upon Al and his shop not more than 30 minutes from me. I dropped by the store and Al was very pleasant and knowledgable. He helped set me up with a starter guitar, assisted me with the initial learning curve and when it came time to move to a pro rig he found me exactly the right guitar. He even helped me modify it to suit my needs for what I was looking to do.

Recently I finished my new cd using my pedal steel guitar as the main focus. Without Al's support and guidance I do not think my journey would have ran near as smoothly. Aside from being an amazing player (as I am sure most of you know) he is a great guy. Couldn't agree more Ken. Al is a true gentleman. Hoping to spend some time in Al's company in Dallas having a glass or two of lemonade !!!!!!!

I agree with all above. I am not at all out here in the west, close to Al's shop but have known and bought most everything I could from him for years. He is the one of the best out there. Do look up Steel Guitars of Canada.

Just to add my two cents Al is a great guy always willing to help out and easy to talk to,I've bought most of my steel gear from him over the years,I got to know him back when Wayne Link was still putting on his steel shows in Winnipeg(Linkon).Those were great times for me and everyone who attended,I'm sure,both those guys would always go the extra mile to help anyone

I always thought Penn was Siberia.

We are lucky to have Al's shop here in Canada. He is a nice guy, a great steel player, and his service and prices are excellent. Anything I need for steel I buy from Al. I also recomend Steel Guitars of Canada to steel players out here on the west coast who are looking for a steel guitar or any steel related supplies.

yes must agree Al is always very help full .any thing about steel guitar your in luck.with Al.there's not much he doesn't know about pedal steel. along with being and awesome player,and he's alway's there to help i to have delt with Al for 25 years or so,and he never let's you down.CHEERS Al.

A few years ago, someone broke into my car and stole my gear bag, with volume pedal, tuner, bar, chords, matchbox. I emialed Al and he sent me a full replacement supply, without charging my extra for the super express shipping. What a guy!

I'm going to chime in here and agree (and also say hi to my pal Ken). Al has been a valuable resource as I've made my way in the steel guitar world. He's provided me with endless free advice. And also advised me upon the ordering and sold me my Carter, and pretty much every accessory and set of strings I've ever used. And he's a fine guy to top it off. Here's to you Al!

That's kewl,but I've never been to Fargo but have lived in a town named Linn.

Small world, Ransom, hainah? (That's NE Penn lingo for n'est-ce pas.)

Anyway, here's a little interesting note: Al played steel on PPL's Bustin' Out Album and J.D. Call bought his latest guitar, a Carter, from Al. And dangit, it's got that 5th knee lever I need to do the intro to Amie without tying my fingers up in a pretzel.

Al's steel on PPL's Jazzman has (IMO) withstood the test of time. I listen to that album regularly. Contrarian that I am, Amie is not my favorite song on the Bustin Out album. It isn't overrated but it is overplayed.

Ive been dealing with Al ever since I got in to steel guitar and he's been great to do business with. Eveything goes really smooth. There are alot of steel shops in the U.S. which are fabulous but it's nice to have a high profile business dedicated to serving the steel world here in Canada, close to home. He's a good steel player too.
