looks great!

Unless they are 1000's of feet long, cable type does not really matter. Any 6' cable basically sounds the same - as long as the connectors are high quality.

You might notice an improvement in sound with a short George L cable from the guitar to black box; that's where it seems to make the most difference. If you want to go all the way, Id suggest connecting all of the little devices with short George L's then using a longer more durable cable like mugami with neutrik ends for the long stretch to your amp.

Also, you might want to think about putting the black box and pedals into a briefcase or on a pedalboard and getting it off the ground a little. It will protect them against beer and dust, and I bet you'll find it much more convenient.
That's my two cents, as they say. Nice stuff.

I second the thought about the first cable being nice and short. I didn't believe it until I tried it, then I ran some numbers. The pickup straight into a 10' cable is indeed audible. If you buffer it with a short cable close to the steel, you will get better high end response. The inductance of the pickup combined with the capacitance of the cable really does go down into the audio range pretty quickly.
After it's buffered, it isn't so critical.

So, let me get this straight - you're using a Hilton Pedal (which contains a preamp), a Steel Guitar Black Box preamp, a Pigtronix Class A Clean Boost preamp, and a Sarno Classic Tube Preamp? Neutral

Why all the "stuff"? Not that there's anything particularly wrong with your rig, mind you, as long as you like it. I just ask that 'cause I figured that if your setup was working well, you probably wouldn't be looking for suggestions or comments. However, as a member of the "less is more club", I'd say what you're using is really overkill, and unnecessary (but that's just my opinion).

Yep way too much pre amp going on .. try direct to the Sarno from the Vol .. adjust your pre till you get the killer sound you like .. then see if any other things in the chain make it better .. I am betting they are not.
