I really like the sound of the George L 10-1 and wanted to learn more the different settings of the 10-5, both the tone and the technical details if anyone has them. Like what value capacitor is used for switch position #6 for the Inductance-Capacitance Coupling. And how the different settings compare to the 10-1.

Thanks!

Steve

Steve,I can't give the technical data, but can attest to the fact the 10-5 is probably one of the best pickups ever made for pedal steel.. I can't for the life of me understand why the 10-1 is so popular and the 10-5 isn't.. They are the same pickup, but the 10-5 has incredibly diverse tonal possibilities with its 5 way switch.. You have the 10-1 sound as always, but depending on where the switch is, you have single coil sounds, , coils out of phase[ very thin but a cool effect] and whatever else they do-
series? parallel?.. I had 5 very distinct sounds on mine, and thought it was a GREAT pickup.. They are the same price as all the other Georgel pickups too.
I say go for it.. The switch is kind of big and cumbersome, and that may be what scares guys off, but the variations in tone are well worth it.... bob
