Yes that's right, I was worried about the gigs for the Commander here in St. Loius after we lost Generations which was a great location. So on April 30th we'll be at the Blueberry Hill Duck Room in University City on Delmar in the loop. Plus they'll be in K.C. too, but I can't make that one. For more info and complete schedule check out the link: markemerick.com
They also have some gigs with Tiny Olson, he's fantastic...and he is also on the new live DVD, I'm so jealous...he can play C6 single note runs just like Buddy Emmons!
And he's a real nice guy too!
Check out the Commander as he's still lost in the Ozone.
See you there!

The Commander is always in command.Tiny is great , I'm glad he' s using a steel player again. I met him in San Fran in 95 or so and he was a bit disenchanted with country music then. Some incident with a truck driver I think!!! Blueberry Hill is a great Gig ... good food .

Don, please tell the ol' Commander that we're anxiously waiting his return to the Hawaiian Islands.

It's been way too long!

(what seeds and stems blues?)

Ron, will do...Mark Emerick called today, Cody's guitarist, and he mentioned that they'll be in Kansas City on Friday night, the 29th, then St. Louis on Saturday night, then Champaign/Urbana Illinois on Sunday. You can check out the web site through links at scottysmucic.com including Commander Cody and Mark Emerick. Mark's got a great page with an I.S.G.C. section as well a Porkumentary highlighting great BBQ across the country.
Can't wait as I love pickin' with Mark!
Pork Pickin'...Hot Lickin'...Ozone Sniffin'!
See you there!

Hey Don:

Just got back from Rhode Island after the gig there with The Commander and read your post. Thanks for your extremely kind words. But you know what man??... you play great yourself. And the River City Jumpin' CD you're on sounds super. So it's my suggestion that any steelers in the St.Louis area should definately get out to hear you with The Commander this coming weekend.

I couldn't agree with you more about gigin' with Mark. He does play great and is so much fun to be around and work with. He's also a big railfan (like me) and I like bbq like you guys so I guess that just makes it all the better!!

Thanks again Don and have a great gig.

Your pal,
Chris "Tiny" Olson

The wife and I just got home from a Heartsfield/Commander Cody gig here in Champaign, IL - Don Curtis was Smokin'! I could not help but notice the DDT light on his Nashville 400 was ON SOLID most of the time during his solos!! Must be some high stage volume up there!!
