Well it certainly looks like a Jedson. But I think the name badge would be important here. Is there a name badge somewhere or other marks to confirm it. |

I wanted to bid on this to go with the Deluxe 6 my son has.
Still, like Mitch I felt it needed the badge. Also, that striping
had me worried. I looked very close at the pics and it appeared
(to me) there had been some re-finishing on the bottom.
No matter it's no longer available. Pulled with no bids. |

These were made in Japan and sold under a number of different names, including Arai, Arai Diamond, and Jedsen. They're all identical, though some did not have legs. More importantly, they sound like crap, and their sustain is nearly non-existent. Gilmour used them because they didn't want to lug around a Fender 1000 pedal steel, which was the only other steel he had. Both were heavily modified in the mid-'80s, and have active electronics, with new control plates to accommodate the humbucker-sized pickups - and I would wager that the bridges and nuts have been replaced with Fender parts. I bought a legless red one on Ebay two years ago for about $250 because, being a big Gilmour fan, always wanted one. It made my Fender Studio Deluxe sound like a million bucks. I put it back on Ebay, starting it at $375. Anyone want to guess how much it sold for?
