Finally finished my JS Bach on the Resonator guitar project. 15 cuts. i have a couple of old wooden delvecchio resonator guitars one set up for slide and the other for fingerstyle.

here are a couple of cuts. hope there are some Bach fans here.

this is i think from the English suites

this one is the adagio section from the Cminor toccata, adagio and fugue for pipe organ.

and here is the ball buster!! the toccato in F major over 8 mins!!!

i play all the instruments which are acoustic guitars and a track of elec. bass. recorded mixed and mastered in my little project studio in a corner of my shop down in the basement.

Boy Bill! The way you have those guitars set up and
the fantastic playing reminds me so much of Los Indos
and Chet.
I am going to use those for my workout background music.
Would love to hear something off the slide Delvechio?
Not blues but something down the middle.
Great work man!!
Roy

thank you roy! i cant tell you how many years i wanted the dv guitar!! maybe 20 or 30. i found one in n carolina. guy was retiring selling his stuff. i took the fingerboard off and made an ebony one like chets. the original board is just so badly out of tune. this guitar plays so nicely in tune. i have every chet record and every los indios record!! saw los indios live in the early 70s. nato lima was stunning!! have gigged with atkins. he is my guitar hero!

the other one i got in a deal along with an 87 gibson country gent. i have two of those. that is the first year production. the first 200 were made in the gibson custom shop as the factory took a while to set up to make them. they are very nicely made. a lot of hand work. later guitars are made out on the assembly line. i like these better.

glad you like the bach cuts. i will send you a private email and ask you something.

OK, now it makes sense how you can play that 39 string lap steel stuff. That's 'cake' compared to this stuff ! GREAT Bill !

How could you not know what this is after looking at he page while you read it? This is the last movement of the 2nd orchestral suite. The orchestra is just strings and flute, tho the flute part has long been considered fair game for trumpet or tuba or glass harmonica etc

and now by reso guitar.

thanks eb. its been years since i read and recorded this. thats why i cant remember. somewhere in a folder i have some track sheets and some of the music i used. i thought about it the other day...heck i need to make sure i name these pieces correctly! lol i did these over at least a ten year period. i will get all the correct info so no one will think i am just the recovering redneck that i am. Smile

i bought a used alesis masterlink off ebay. finally i am able to collect all these and get them sort of mastered and on one cd . got a bud with a nice duplicator set up.

i am still half way pondering doing a section of the brandenburg thats in the key of g. good key for the resonator.

Bill,
I love it! Very Happy I just got finished commenting on another thread about Bach having written some of the best music ever, and am so glad it is still being played today. Awesome! Brilliant! Absolutely Beautiful! Thank you.

I've been working on one of his violin sonatas lately...fun, logical stuff.
