I need a small number of a variety of capacitors for various projects.

I hate to pay several dollars each (eBay prices) for items which sell for very little in quanity.

My immediate need is a couple of 16uf higher voltage capacitors for an old tube amp. But I am hoping to put together a larger order and single source them so that I can combine the shipping.

Digikey/Mouser/Newark came to mind initially. Great search engines at all too. But, then I realize these folks don't tend to the high voltage/tube amp market.

www.tubesandmore.com is your best bet I think.
Perhaps Angela Instruments or some of the other sites catering specifically to tube amp builders/fixers.

you can buy direct from Ruby, Tube Depot, Antique Elec. Supply, Mojotone...

all of these places have wholesale and dealer pricing too - but you can buy whatever you want at a fair price. Mojo is in North Carolina - might be the closest to you. You should try out the F+T caps, and don't be afraid to increase the values a little if you have to.

I use Mouser Electronics for caps and resistors for the effects pedals I build. They are the cheapest I've found and you can order whatever quantity you desire and their selection is unbelievable.

What Howard said. I've used them for many years
never been disappointed. First rate service and products all the way.
For many years I restored old tube radios and
amps. They have always had the high voltage caps
I needed.
