Getting Rid of EUDORA via Registry

This morning I discovered that Eudora is still on my PC.
It's been conflicting with T-Bird, so I tried to uninstall it, as usual, in Add/Remove. It didn't uninstall.
After reading that other's have the same problem, I attempted to delete Eudora in the Registry. I deleted anything Eudora [Qualcomm] in HKEY_CURRENT_USER. I rebooted. When I checked Eudora in Control Panel and Program Files, it was not deleted.

I went back to the Registry and found some more Eudora in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, but decided I'd better not delete it, and check with wiser folks here.

I did save Eudora from HKEY_CURRENT_USER before I deleted it, and so was able to put it back in the Registry.

Maybe there's an easier way to get rid of Eudora. It apparently is a big problem with many users [according to the web].

Please help, gang :?

C Hip;
If you have uninstalled Eudora via add/remove programs, just run CrapCleaner's Registry cleaner and have it remove any leftover entries pertaining to that program.

Wiz,

I didn't remove Eudora. I installed it a month or so ago, because T-Bird wasn't working right at that time. T-bird finally got straightened-out, and I simply turned it back into the default email, but still left Eudora installed.
Now Eudora keeps popping up when I don't want it to, so I'd just as soon dump it.
Ah, but it won't dump.

I'll run CC anyway and see what happens.

Thanks Wizardo

Yeah Wiz,

I just ran CC and Eudora is still alive.

I got this message just as I've been getting all along:

How is Windows going to uninstall the program after you have begun manually deleting its parts and Reg entries? The entire initial program's files and Registry entries are needed to uninstall it via Add/Remove Programs (et al).

Reinstall Eudora, reboot, then uninstall it. Then, run a Reg scan for leftovers. Then delete temp files

I saved Eudora before deleting, and did put it back in the registry.
I'll reinstall it and follow your instructions.

Thanks Wiz

Chip,

You might want to try revo uninstaller.

Removes basically all traces of a program, even if the uninstaller doesn't work. If it's listed in add/remove, revo can remove it.

The free version should do nicely.

Windows Installer Cleanup Utility

Free... discontinued by MS but you can find it on other download sites.

Works wonders.
