I am considering doing a seminar here in Pigeon Forge sometime in the near future. I wanted to see how many of you might be interested in something like this. At this time I haven't decided whether to do just one general seminar for all levels or to break it down into 2 or 3 different levels. I use to do quite a few seminars around the country in the eighties and nineties, but I haven't been doing many in the past few years since seminars in general are not attended as well as they were back then. All I am asking right now is no obligation whatsoever, but just an idea of how many of you might have an interest in this. I have contacted a very nice hotel up here where we could get a special rate for those of you from out of town and the seminar would be held at the same hotel. Of course, this area is a great tourist area with all types of attractions to see. Again, this is all speculation right now. I also might add that we might consider either a one day seminar or possibly a two day seminar, so if you have an interest in this, just let me know your thoughts and we will go from there.

One idea might be to hold separate seminars for each level and video tape it with students there and sell seminar DVDs. By recording it with real students, questions get raised that others would have and that would make a very informative instruction DVD to the steel guitar masses.

You would reach more people quickly who cannot attend and maybe you only have to do each seminar once and you are done.

In fact, if you did the seminars for more than one day, then you could edit the video and only include the best parts to put on the instruction DVD.

I think a lot of people would like to attend a pro-level seminar, but cannot get off work, etc. And, really one day would not be enough to cover everything. That is why the DVD of an edited, recorded live seminar would work.

Just a thought...

That's a good idea Frank. I'd love to attend any seminars, Herby, but I know I just can't get the time off, real soon.
But I sure could and would support the DVD's
if they came about.

Herby, I think the reason seminars aren't well attended is they are always promoted as "For all levels" or "Something for everyone"......which simply isn't true.
I really don't want to sit through listening how to go from a I chord to a IV chord while waiting for the "good" stuff.
So, count me in if you come up with seperate levels to choose from.

Sound like a good idea have you got any dates in mind yet?
